WOOOOOOOO
Late night at work.
How did you pick Arsenal to be your team?
It’s actually not a terrible story!
It was 1998 and I was 11 years old playing FIFA World Cup ‘98 on the SNES. I was playing as England, as young anglo-saxon men are wont to do.
While I was playing, I noticed that the name of the player I was controlling much of the time was the same as mine! Video games sometimes show the name of the active player below or above the character on the screen. I was amazed. Who was this stalwart young man sharing my name and playing for the English National Team on my Super Nintendo Entertainment System while I sat on my mother’s bedroom floor.
I went into the team menu and went straight to the roster. There he was. Ian Wright. Interesting. I open his player profile. Who does he play for?
Arsenal?
That’s a strange name for a team. At least, it was in the eyes of an 11 year old kid in Canada. I was used to North American sports names that consist of a location and a nickname.
But it did not matter.
From that moment on, I fell in love with the Arsenal. They have been my team ever since, though I did not get nearly as involved in following them until High School when they would blaze to the top of the Football world, led by Thierry Henry.
And that’s the story of how I chose to become an Arsenal supporter. I am now a card carrying member, despite being separated by a distance of 5400km. I hope to one day be able to attend a match.

Arsenal-Hot Stuff (by McMorrow1992)
Arsenal released a very special CD Single in the lead up to their 1998 FA Cup final win over Newcastle. It peaked at #6 on the charts.
Basically the best thing a player could say after a game like yesterday’s!
These guys aren’t going anywhere any time soon. #Arsenal
sliu answered your question: Thinking of doing a Google+ hangout tonight.
we can sob about arsenal and invite illex and have a grand ol’ misery party
Speaking of which, there’s now an Arsenal FC Community on Google+
Good Guy Mertesacker
Is Andre Santos running the Arsenal USA Online Store?
Tell me that George Graham’s goal from this game against Liverpool in 1970 doesn’t remind you of something a little more recent.
